Welcome

This view is from atop Jake's Butte.   Legend has it that this hill was named after Jake Lewis, a round-up cook.  He set up camp at the bottom of this hill but the riders couldn't find the camp.  Jake decided to put a lantern on top of the hill so the hungry riders could spot him.

Today, this is where we go to get a birds eye view of our ranch and the life we've made with our family, friends, dogs, horses, donkeys, and cattle - in no particular order of favorites (of course the children are top of the list, wink wink).

If you are in the market for FULL FRENCH CHAROLAIS bulls or females, maybe a horse or donkey or two or three, we are only a phone call, text, or email away.  We'd be happy to answer any questions for you!

If you would like to be added to our Bulls for Sale contact list, please contact us and we'll be glad to add your name.

Testimonials

We have been very impressed with Jakes Butte Ranch bulls.  They are not over fed like so many bulls are.  The bulls here need to get out and travel in big pastures and rough terrain and they seem to have no trouble at all.  Also, calving ease was a concern with using Charolais on our British cows but we have had no issues whatsoever.  We certainly see the difference in the calves at weaning time!

Wayne Skocdopole, Skocdopole Ranches

After using numerous Wilkie bulls over the past 15 years, we have found these bulls to be solid and sound.  They are slow developed, so they do not melt out on pasture while working; they actually continue to grow.  We have not had to cull one of these bulls for any foot problems.  The thickness in these animals is not fat that disappears and disappoints, it is absolutely natural thickness that adds top, middle and hind quarter.

Pernell Van Straten, Laketon Ranch

We've been using Wilkie's bulls for a number of years and found their Full French bulls add extra muscle and frame to the calves with a great hair coat come fall.  They also have good dispositions that make them easy to handle and this shows up in their claves as well.  Calves off their bulls perform well and have added value and consistency that's proven each year by the repeat buyers.
